Hybrid breeding:
If pokemon followed a few rules for creating hybrids this is what it may look like. It just made better sense to my husband and I, that this would be a better basis, or more realistic if it were possible at least.
The resulting Pokemon will always take the base or baby form of the parent pokemon. That is to say whatever the lowest or starting form is. The offspring will consistently take the body structure of the mother while taking on traits and type of the father.
For example Chartini and Dramander both come from breeding dratini or its evolutionary stages with a charmander or any of its evolutionary stages. The Chartini takes the body shape of the mother which is the dratini or one of its evolutionary stages, but its type is fire with the coloration of its father pokemon which was a charizard. This pairing will always result in chartini. When chartini evolves it will become a Chargonair, and will pick up the SECONDARY dragon type of its MOTHER.
Reversing the genders of the parent pokemon is the only way to get the Dramander to occur. They will resemble charmander in body shape but will carry the water type and be blue. When Dramander evolves it will look distinctly more like Charizard, skipping the middle stage of its mother. This will be known as Dragizard, and will pick up the SECONDARY Flying type of its MOTHER.
(this only applies when the mother HAS as a secondary type to give it, otherwise it could pick up the father secondary type or even simply ignore the father's secondary typing and remain single typed. However the results will be consistent, if it does pick up the father's type it always will with that particular match, if it remains mono-type it will always do so.)
Other minor features are a little more interchangeable, such as dratini’s head crests or charmander’s pointy teeth.
So as we can see from the above example it would be impossible to breed a dragonair and a milotic and get a baby with those appearances, rather it would look like a mix of the dratini and a feebas depending on who was mom.
And anything bred with a gardevoir would use ralts as a baby form, anything bred with a gallade would use ralts’ colors for the baby form. With selected bits and pieces from each parent being present to clarify its a hybrid not a variant. Hybrids are Sterile unless they create a new line.
